How can I help?

  • Anxiety

Stress and thoughts related to anxiety are totally normal, but if your stress and anxiety is holding you back from living a fulfilling l life, therapy can help! I work with clients who may be fighting against, avoiding, or consumed by stress/anxiety, helping them to change their relationship with stress/anxiety instead of getting rid of it.

Anxiety doesn’t have to be the “villain” in your life! We can work to understand your anxiety’s origin and context, while also learning to coexist with your anxiety. I’m here to help you stop fighting with your anxiety, and ultimately amplify your identity and values so that you’re the “main character” in your life, and your anxiety is just a “background character.”

  • trauma/ptsd

Have you experienced one or more traumatic events that are affecting your thoughts, emotions, and behavior? Are people in your life telling you to leave it in the past and move on? No matter the specific experience, trauma is life-changing and significant; it’s not just a feeling or memory that we can easily “get over.”

I’m here to help you understand how trauma has affected your past and present life, without letting it control you.  We’ll work together to identify and understand your trauma symptoms and build personalized coping skills so that your thoughts, emotions, memories, and symptoms related to your trauma are better managed. Then you can get to living the life you want to live!

  • Neurodiversity

Those living with and parenting children with neurodiversity know how difficult it can be to try to fit into a world that isn’t set up for their unique minds to succeed. As a neurodivergent person myself, I have firsthand experience with feeling judged and misunderstood by others in many settings.

I’m here to help those with neurodivergence by providing them with a place to feel understood and validated, and to support them in building resilience and coping skills to thrive. I also support parents/guardians of neurodivergent children by validating their unique experiences and providing tools to enhance their child’s self-esteem and resilience, to be their child’s advocate, and to parent effectively.

  • life transitions

Life is both fortunately and unfortunately full of change! If you’re going through a life transition - including (but not limited to) changes related to school/work, living situation, or friendship/relationship status - I’m here to help you make it through to the other side. I can help you recognize and process both what you’re losing and what you’re gaining in going through this transition, as well as help you build resilience and learn personalized coping skills to handle intense thoughts and feelings related to significant change.

  • self-esteem

Doubting ourselves and our abilities is a totally normal feature of life! If you’re feeling controlled and consumed by your self-doubt, though, therapy can help you knock your self-doubt down a few pegs so that you live your life according to your values, not according to your self-doubt. I can help you investigate the origin of your self-doubt, clarify your values and explore your strengths, and learn personalized coping skills to manage thoughts and feelings related to inadequacy and doubt.

  • identity exploration

You don’t need to be in the middle of a  full-blown “identity crisis” to explore your identity! I can help you understand how your values and identity have been shaped thus far and support you in exploring what really matters to you, as well as how to live a life that reflects your values.

  • Depression

Whether your depression is seasonal, genetic, or caused by external factors in your life, it can feel like a giant wave that traps you in its undertow. I’m here to help you find a life raft on which to ride the wave of depression.

We’ll work together to build personalized coping skills, enhance meaningful activities, and increase self-compassion. There may not be a quick fix for depression, but I’m here to support you in living life on your own terms, even while experiencing a depressive episode.
